Paediatric and Pregnancy Care in Chiropractic

Chiropractic and Paediatric care
Chiropractic care for newborns and children is increasingly popular as new parents learn about the benefits through their friends and family members, midwives and lactation consultants.
Many people won’t have considered chiropractic care for their wee ones – and if you think chiropractic is just for bad backs and sore necks, it’s not surprising!
Far from being limited to pain relief, chiropractic care is focused on how well the nervous system is functioning in conjunction with the musculoskeletal system. The nervous system controls and co-ordinates everything that takes place within your body, so it’s just as important for babies to have access to chiropractic care as it is for adults.
Georgina and Alice have undertaken many additional hours of courses specifically in paediatric care and have worked with many children of all ages over the years.
The safety record for chiropractic speaks for itself – chiropractic for babies is extremely gentle, and (thankfully!) nothing like most people imagine. Chiropractors use a very light touch when treating babies – roughly the same pressure as checking if a tomato is ripe! If you’re unsure whether chiropractic can help your baby, get in touch
with us and we’d love to chat.

Chiropractic and Pregnancy Care
Choosing a chiropractor to work with throughout pregnancy could be one of the best investments you make in your prenatal health. The beauty of chiropractic is that it’s just as safe during your pregnancy as it is before and after.
When you’re carrying a precious new life inside you, it’s important that you know you’re in the very best hands. Our chiropractors have undertaken many hours of additional training in pregnancy care and have many years of experience in supporting people during pregnancy. Georgina is a recommended practitioner with the pelvic partnership.
Chiropractors are regulated health professionals, and a chiropractor who is experienced in caring for pregnant women will be able to assess your spine and pelvis, and provide you with a care plan tailored to you throughout each trimester.
Too often, women are told that they will start to feel back to normal once their baby arrives. We don’t think that should be the case, and we work with women to help them express life fully, at every stage of life – including pregnancy.
